Hello and welcome to my website, I am Stacey Deering, the mother of two amazing children, Aidan and Ava, a holistic nutritionist and recipe developer. I have a serious passion for clean, simple food and helping people like you. This site is designed to share with you the food we prepare, eat and share with friends and family. I enjoy eating healthy 80% of the time but also take the opportunity to have those little indulgences that make life really sweet. I love food, really love food.
I grew up a country girl appreciating farm fresh food and what real food tastes like in it’s natural form. I was born into a grain farming family with five sisters and one brother and developed a love for sunshine and fresh air. My real passion for food started after having Aidan and Ava and having experienced watching both of them suffer the negative consequences of food colouring, preservatives and sugar. I took the opportunity while they were little to study nutrition and prepare nourishing meals with minimal effort. Like most mom’s I don’t want to spend my day in the kitchen, I want to be out experiencing what life has to offer. I removed processed foods, sugar, gluten and chemicals that I ate for most of my life and replaced them with whole, minimally processed foods, healthy fats, nutrient rich vegetables and fresh fruit. For the most part we eat seasonal and local, albeit hard to do in Calgary.
I love leafy green salads, thick green smoothies you can eat with a spoon, really good organic coffee, seafood, bananas with natural peanut butter, poached eggs, a really good homemade burger and chocolate. The food I enjoy the most is not complicated or fancy but simple food made with the freshest ingredients. I believe that making healthy food on a daily basis should be easy, taste really good and require minimal time. I love all food, vegan, vegetarian, Paleo and cook based on what my intuition is telling me my body needs. I love long walks with Aidan, Ava and Sadie, trail runs, cycling, lifting, traveling, farmers markets and exploring new places.
Watching Aidan and Ava enjoy a homemade meal full of nutrients puts a smile on my face and I am proud that they love food that nourishes their body. They are aware of what good food means, tastes like, and are learning to make better choices in a world with too many bad choices. I value meditation, spirituality, peace, compassion, mindful eating and happiness. I love helping people make positive changes in their health with food and I hope to create a place where one can live in balance.
Thank you for stopping by!
